Youth and Adult Powerchair Football Sessions
We're looking for people to express interest in taking part in new Powerchair Football taster sessions, which will help to determine dates and venues for future provision on a more structured basis.
Powerchair Football, viewed by many as the only truly inclusive active team sport, caters for wheelchair users or people with severe mobility impairments. Powerchair provision is a completely mixed offer, allowing all ages of players and all genders who have a physical disability to engage in the game.
Lincolnshire FA Football Development Officer (Disability and Inclusion), Jordan Mason, is looking forward to hearing from new participants: “Working in partnership with the Wheelchair Football Association, we're aiming to provide new playing opportunities. Powerchairs are provided for the players, and there are no age restrictions. If you’ve played Powerchair football before or if you’re completely new to the game, this is a fantastic opportunity for you to come and get involved!
“We’ve had a really successful Powerchair team here in Lincolnshire just a few years ago, and we are eager to get this up and running again and provide more inclusive playing opportunities than ever before.”
During Powerchair matches, a larger ball is used. Games are played at indoor venues on a standard five-a-side pitch, with four players used at any one time.
