We are excited to announce the next event in the Lincoln City CPD - Grassroots Coaches Club series.

This CPD session, titled "Defending the Area", will be hosted by Scott Fry, the 1st Team Goalkeeping Coach for Lincoln City FC. The event is designed for coaches who are keen to enhance their goalkeeping knowledge and learn more about how to support their keepers in defending the penalty area.

CPD Overview

In this session, Scott Fry will dive deep into the technical aspects of how goalkeepers defend the area. He will share insights on the key principles involved in defending the goal, including positioning, decision-making, and communication with defenders.

Scott will also demonstrate how these principles can be applied in training, showing coaches how to design sessions that focus on improving goalkeepers' ability to protect their area during matches.

The session will then move to a practical example, where Scott will put the theory into action with real-world demonstrations. This will provide attendees with a better understanding of how to implement the strategies in their own coaching sessions.

Q&A and Debrief

After the practical demonstration, Scott will host a Q&A session, giving attendees the chance to ask questions about the session and gain further insight into the world of goalkeeping. The evening will conclude with a debrief, where Scott will recap the key learning points and offer additional tips on how to develop goalkeepers at the grassroots level.
