On Wednesday 15th January, Lincolnshire FA proudly hosted the Future Lionesses Talent ID event at Bottesford Town FC, offering aspiring young footballers a platform to shine.

The evening saw dozens of talented girls take part in an exciting session designed to identify and nurture future stars of the women’s game.

A Night of Talent and Opportunity

From the first warm-up to the final whistle in the small-sided matches, the energy and enthusiasm from all participants were outstanding. Players born in 2009, 2010, and 2011 had the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of FA scouts and coaches, with a focus on ball mastery, movement drills, and game play.

Kirsty Dixon, Football Development Officer (Women & Girls) at Lincolnshire FA, reflected on the event’s success:

"It was fantastic to see so many talented young players come together, each with their own unique skills and passion for the game. The Future Lionesses Talent ID event is about more than just identifying players for the FA Talent Pathway; it’s about inspiring confidence, providing new experiences, and showing girls that there is a place for them in football at every level."

Pathway to the Top

The FA’s Talent Pathway is designed to ensure England’s future teams are built with quality, diversity, and depth, and this event was a crucial step in that process. Many of the players impressed the coaches with their technique, vision, and decision-making, and some will now progress further along the pathway with the potential to represent England in the future.
