Lincolnshire FA is pleased to welcome Gary Kent as the new Area Delegate for South Holland, bringing with him a wealth of experience in football administration and community engagement.

A Passion for Grassroots Football

Gary has been actively involved in local football for the past five years, dedicating his time to Spalding United FC. Over the past three years as Club Secretary, he has played a vital role in the club’s operations, from managing Stadium Accreditation projects to overseeing grant applications for facility improvements, including floodlight upgrades.

As Spalding United’s Welfare Officer, Gary also provides pastoral care and support to the First Team Squad, ensuring player well-being remains a priority.

Before his involvement in football, Gary spent most of his career in healthcare IT, supporting both the NHS and private hospitals across the UK and Europe. His background in project management and strategic planning will be invaluable in his new role as an Area Delegate on the Lincolnshire FA Council.

The Role of Area Delegates

Lincolnshire FA’s Council is made up of representatives from seven distinct areas across the county, ensuring that the voices of leagues, clubs, and referees are heard at the decision-making level.

As an Area Delegate, Gary will act as a bridge between Lincolnshire FA and the South Holland football community, working closely with local leagues, clubs, and referees to:

✔ Ensure effective communication between Lincolnshire FA and grassroots football
✔ Provide support and guidance to clubs and individuals in his area
✔ Assist players with Benevolent Fund claims, offering financial support to those injured during football activity
✔ Support the Lincolnshire FA Awards, ensuring local volunteers, referees, coaches, and players receive the recognition they deserve
