The upcoming Continued Professional Development (CPD) event for coaches: "Person First, Player Second" is with Grimsby Town ETC

Lincolnshire FA is excited to announce an upcoming Continued Professional Development (CPD) event for coaches: "Person First, Player Second" at Grimsby Town Emerging Talent Centre.

This free event is designed to help coaches deepen their understanding of player development by focusing on the individual beyond the game.

Event Details:

  • Date: Monday, 11th November 2024
  • Time: 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM (Arrival from 6:15 PM)
  • Venue: YMCA Clee Fields, Ladysmith Road, Grimsby, DN32 8QU
  • Cost: Free

This session aims to provide coaches with the knowledge and tools to support players as people first, allowing them to thrive both on and off the pitch.

Session Objectives:

  • Person First, Player Second: Learn how to recognize the individual needs of players and support them to perform their best.
  • Individual Tactics: Discover how to connect individual tactics with skills and practical development.
  • Practice Types: Understand the variety of practice methods that enhance a player’s development, helping them progress from technique to skill.
  • Practice Design: Gain insight into the returns of different practice types and how to apply them effectively.

Learner Outcomes: Coaches will come away with an enhanced understanding of how England Talent Centres (ETCs) support youth female players and how to guide their growth in collaboration with grassroots clubs. The focus will be on nurturing players’ personal development alongside their sporting growth.

This event is open to all coaches who wish to refine their approach to youth development and create a more holistic, supportive environment for their players. The session will be delivered with Grimsby U14 and U16 ETC Participants and delivered by FA Women's Coach Development officer, Gary Webb, and Grimsby ETC Coaches.
