Spalding United Named 2024 Club of the Year!

Spalding United has been crowned the 2024 Lincolnshire FA Club of the Year, recognising their incredible impact both on and off the pitch.

We are thrilled to announce that Spalding United has been crowned the 2024 Lincolnshire FA Club of the Year, recognising their incredible impact both on and off the pitch.

This season, Spalding United has not only seen success on the field, but they’ve also created a strong sense of community, making football a central part of life in Spalding.

Their remarkable achievements include growing attendance at matches, welcoming new volunteers, and supporting mental health through the friendly and inclusive environment they’ve fostered. One volunteer shared, "Being a part of the Spalding United community has helped my mental health at a difficult time. Everyone involved with the club is so friendly and welcoming." The club’s ability to unite fans, volunteers, and players has been nothing short of inspirational.

Spalding United has gone above and beyond in their efforts to give back to the local community. Their Christmas and Easter Appeals saw fans donating food to the local food bank, Agape Spalding, providing much-needed support to those in need. The club has also launched popular coffee mornings, offering a space for people to come together, chat, and connect, with or without football being the focus.

To further engage the local community, Spalding United has run promotions allowing U16s to attend home matches for free and offering free entry and a bacon roll to senior citizens at select games. Their commitment to inclusion extends beyond the stands, with outreach initiatives bringing in local schools and nursing homes to experience the joy of football.

The club’s dedicated volunteers are the heartbeat of Spalding United. Pre-season, volunteers gave up countless hours to ensure the ground was match-ready, from repainting fences to setting up goalposts. The Tulips Supporters Club, set up by a group of passionate volunteers, has also played a key role in encouraging more fans to attend games, even organising a free bus for away games!

All these efforts have cultivated a family atmosphere at Spalding United, where everyone feels welcome and valued. With fans' forums, community outreach, and a fantastic group of players who always make time for supporters, it’s no wonder Spalding United has earned the title of Club of the Year.
