Lincolnshire FA is proud to announce Dave Holmes and his dedicated grounds team at Deeping Rangers FC as the recipients of the 2024 Grounds Team of the Year Award.

This recognition is a testament to their tireless commitment and hard work in maintaining pitches for 26 teams across a variety of age groups, from the Soccer Schools U6 to the Over 50’s Walking Football Team.

Despite limited space and the constant wear and tear from matches, Dave and his team consistently deliver high-quality pitches, providing local children and adults with a safe and professional environment to play the sport they love.

Deeping Rangers FC has become a pillar in the community, offering players a sense of identity and pride thanks to the top-tier facilities maintained by the grounds team.

At nearly 80 years old, Dave and his team continue to show incredible enthusiasm and dedication, working year-round in all weather conditions. Even during the off-season, they are hard at work preparing the pitches for the next season’s play.

Their efforts have not gone unnoticed, with Deeping Rangers often being asked to host Peterborough & District Football League Cup finals—a reflection of the excellent condition of their grounds.

Everyone at Deeping Rangers FC, along with the wider footballing community, is grateful to Dave and his team for their countless hours of service. Without their commitment, the club would not enjoy the reputation it has for providing some of the best pitches in local grassroots football.

This award is a small acknowledgment of the huge impact they’ve had on local football, and we look forward to seeing their continued success.
