Mick Potts Wins 2024 Disability Pathway Coach of the Year Award

We're thrilled to announce Mick Potts from Bottesford Town as the well-deserved winner of the 2024 Disability Pathway Coach of the Year Award

We are thrilled to announce Mick Potts from Bottesford Town Football Club as the well-deserved winner of the 2024 Disability Pathway Coach of the Year Award.

Mick’s unwavering dedication to expanding opportunities for disability football at Bottesford Town has transformed the club and opened doors for countless players who once thought football was beyond their reach.

Mick and his team of volunteers have played a pivotal role in developing and supporting the club’s disability teams. His passion and commitment have not only sustained the Down Syndrome Football team but also led to the formation of a new pan-disability team, creating an inclusive pathway for players of all abilities.

Mick has battled tirelessly to ensure that Bottesford Town offers a welcoming and supportive environment where anyone, regardless of their disability, can enjoy playing the beautiful game.

The development of this full disability pathway means more players than ever before can now participate in competitive football. The impact this has had on the lives of the players is immeasurable, with many never imagining they could be part of a team, let alone play in a league.

Thanks to Mick’s leadership, Bottesford Town FC is now recognised as a club where all players feel welcome and included, both on and off the pitch.

Mick’s determination, even in the face of challenges, has been an inspiration. His commitment to bringing football to local schools and dedicating his time to developing opportunities for disability footballers has truly changed lives.

Despite being a Sheffield Wednesday fan (we’ll forgive him for that!), Mick is a true hero at Bottesford Town and a driving force behind making football accessible to all. We are incredibly proud to celebrate his achievements and the positive impact he has had on disability football in our region. Congratulations, Mick!
