Grimsby Borough Juniors’ Mark Cooper & Mark Crome Play at Wembley
Mark Cooper, a dedicated member of Grimsby Borough Juniors, recently fulfilled a lifelong dream by playing on the iconic pitch at Wembley Stadium as part of the England Football Family scheme.
Mark, who serves as the Club Secretary, Coach, and Social Media Manager for Grimsby Borough Juniors, was given this incredible opportunity through the scheme, which rewards grassroots football heroes with once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
Joining Mark on this unforgettable day was fellow Committee Member and Coach, Mark Crome, who accompanied him as his plus one. Together, they accessed the legendary England dressing rooms, walked down the famous tunnel, and played on the hallowed turf that has witnessed countless historic football moments.
Describing the experience, Mark said: "It was unreal. Walking out onto that pitch was a moment I’ll never forget. It’s something every football fan dreams of, and to actually do it was incredible."
The England Football Family scheme is part of the My England Football initiative, which aims to celebrate and support grassroots volunteers and players. It provides opportunities for fans and community members to engage with football in unique ways, including the chance to play at Wembley Stadium.
