Grassroots Coaches Club Launched With Lincoln City FC

Introducing the Lincoln City Grassroots Coaches Club – a unique development opportunity for all grassroots coaches in Lincolnshire

We’re excited to introduce the Lincoln City Grassroots Coaches Club – a unique and immersive development opportunity designed specifically for grassroots coaches across Lincolnshire. This program offers four comprehensive CPD evenings and a live observation session at an EFL fixture, all aimed at enhancing coaching skills and advancing player development in the county.

For just £100, coaches gain access to five sessions led by some of the top experts at Lincoln City, including Head Coach Michael Skubala, Academy Head of Coaching Calum Oakenfold, Goalkeeper Coach Scott Fry, Assistant First Team Manager Tom Shaw, and First Team Coach David Bridges. This programme is a chance to connect with the professional game and acquire valuable insights that will elevate your coaching journey.

Programme Of Events

1. Transitioning the 11 v 11 game into Small Sided Training 

Date & Time: Thursday 12th September 2024 (6:30pm to 8:30pm)

Venue: Riseholme College, Lincoln, LN1 2ZR

Host: Michael Skubala (Lincoln City First Team Manager)

CPD Overview: Michael will aim to demonstrate how planning effective small-sided training can deliver realistic and relevant outcomes for players relating to the 11v11 game. He will highlight session design with incorporation of player positions, area of the pitch and realistic opposition. Michael will the deliver a practical example followed by a debrief & Q&A around the topic and session delivery.

2. Playing out from the Back

Date & Time: Thursday 17th October 2024 (6:30pm to 8:30pm)

Venue:
Riseholme College, Lincoln, LN1 2ZR

Host: David Bridges (Lincoln City First Team Coach)

CPD Overview: This session will focus on developing possession forward from defensive areas with recognition of playing positions, philosophies and opposition pressure. Dave will present examples of playing out from the back through a theoretical presentation including thoughts when designing sessions, followed by practical delivery and a post session Q&A.

3. Create and Score

Date & Time: Thursday 21st November 2024 (6:30pm to 8:30pm)

Venue:
Riseholme College, Lincoln, LN1 2ZR

Host: Tom Shaw (Lincoln City 1st Team Coach)

CPD Overview: Tom will highlight how to create opportunities to score through positional play, individual challenges and player combinations through both theory and practical demonstrations. After this, Tom will break down the session in a debrief and open the session up for Q&A.

4. Live Coaching Observation - Lincoln City vs. Charlton Athletic 

Date & Venue: Saturday 7th December 2024 (12.30pm)

Venue: LNER Stadium, Lincoln, LN5 

Host: Calum Oakenfold (Head of Coaching at Lincoln City Academy)

CPD Overview: This session has been designed to develop live match observations. The session will focus on arriving pre-game for a theoretical presentation on coach observations, followed by the opportunity to watch a live 1st team game while completing observation tasks. Post game, there will be an opportunity to meet and review the process and open up the floor to discussions and Q&A around this topic.

5. Defending the Area

Date & Time: Thursday 27th February 2024 (6:30pm to 8:30pm)

Venue: Riseholme College, Lincoln, LN1 2ZR

Host: 
Scott Fry (Lincoln City 1st Team Goalkeeping Coach)

CPD Overview: 
Scott will present a theory-based session on how goalkeepers defend the area and how sessions can be designed around this topic before delivering a practical example. After the session, Scott will complete a Q&A and debrief

If you need to cancel or transfer your place on the course, please notify the Football Operations Department as soon as possible via email at Stuart.Houlton@lincolnshirefa.com. Please be aware of the following policies regarding cancellations and transfers:

Course Cancellation:
  - 28 days or more: Full refund.
  - 27-14 days: 25% of course fee plus admin fee.
  - 13-7 days: 50% of course fee plus admin fee.
  - 6 days or less: No refund provided.

Course Transfers:  
  - 28-14 days: No charge.
  - 13-7 days: 10% administration charge.
  - Less than 6 days: Unable to transfer, course place forfeited.

Consideration will be given to candidates who cannot attend due to health reasons or exceptional circumstances, with supporting documentation required.
