Lincolnshire FA is delighted to announce that the Association has been successful in gaining the Preliminary Level of the Equality Standard for Sport.

In July 2023, Lincolnshire FA was successful in achieving the Preliminary Level of the Equality Standard for Sport.

The National Standard for Equality is a nationally recognised framework that helps address inequalities within the sport sector, by assisting Sports Governing Bodies to embed equality across their organisation, and communicate and share their commitment to inclusion with its staff, members, and partners.

To achieve the Preliminary Level, which is the second of four levels, Lincolnshire FA were required to evidence: 

• Awareness of its current external profile and position in terms of equality.
• A robust equality action plan that seeks to advance equality and increase participation.
• All board members and staff within the organisation understand the general principles of equality and how it relates to their sport.
• Recruitment practices and policies that seek to advance equality.

Nick Hanson, CEO of Lincolnshire FA, said: “Lincolnshire FA are delighted to share the news that we have achieved the Preliminary Level of the Equality Standard for Sport. The accreditation recognises the steps the organisation has taken to further embed inclusion in all of our practices and processes, and I am proud that the organisation has been recognised for this achievement.

We are proud of our diverse community here in Lincolnshire and as the local governing body for grassroots football, we are committed to driving equality in all areas of our work and ensuring that everyone can enjoy the game of football, irrespective of their background or identity.
